Good value, but some parts need to be replaced
I got a great deal on this tank kit from a retailer near my house in May of 2017, and at the pricepoint I couldn't ask for more!
Unfortunately, 5 months on I've needed to replace the heater already and now my led light switch is starting to only work intermittently (sometimes it will start up right after I hit it, sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes, sometimes it doesn't seem to work at all).
The light is only a real problem because the hood is set up in a way that no other lights will work and its a planted tank.
Overall, I still think this is the best value "all inclusive" kit on the market, and recommend it to others looking to get started in this hobby!

Wonderful aquarium product package!
I had been dealing with 5g tanks and decided rather than quit fishkeeping entirely, that I would upgrade to a 20g tank and I chose Tetra because of affordability and features. I love the Marineland artificial plants that came with the package and I got my 'babies' all transferred into the new tank the next day. I haven't yet needed the heater (it's summer in Florida right now) so I cannot attest to its efficacy yet. I think this kit offered a lot of value for the price and other than no extension tube provided with the filter [making it not go down far enough into the tank, hence 4/5 stars] - it's great! Definitely recommend!

First Tank - Bad Tank
I just bought my very first tank, this one, from a local shop, not petsmart or PetCo. You could not believe how excited I was to start this. I got it all ready, washed the substrate, the rock and started to fill the tank. That's when my sister tells me it's leaking and I thought it came from when I was scooping the gravel. Nope. The entire top of my shelf had been covered with water. We hurried it to the bathtub and let it leak a bit. Only to find that the leak was, you guessed it, on the bottom corner. Shoddy construction. A huge bummer to a brand new aquarium hobby enthusiast

leaky aquarium tank
i bought the aquarium from a retailer and not even 24 hours later after got everything out, i set the tank on a stand , & i filled the aquarium with water and added gravel and now the tank has a leak in it and the water has gone off of the aquarium stand onto my floor in a puddle.. as it is leaking from the bottom somewhere.. i am not satisified with it now and would not recommend it to anyone if they had to deal with this one issue especially those who has a carpet floors.. it is a new tank one right out of the box and this is the first time i ever had such a leak problem right off the bat with the tank kit..

Good over the long haul.
Bought the 20 gallon tank just over 2 years ago. Set up is seamless. After two yrs I have no leaks, hardly any pealing of the silicone at the seems. The filter is a bit under powered and I’ll probably upgrade. The LED lights just quit but Tetra replaces those FOC – a big plus. I’ve had a self sustaining aqua eco-system running for two years the fish thrive. As soon as I can I’ll be swapping out a 5 gallon for another one of these. If you’re looking to go from a fish “bowl” to a fish “tank”, this is a great place to start.

Pretty good
I got this 29 tetra tank 2 years ago and so far the silicone that bonds the glass together has held up decently with a few spots where it's peeling very little. The filter it came with i replaced with a tetra whisper x70 just because the one it comes with is the bare minimum and just barely keeps the tank moving. The heater it came with is pretty decent as well no problems with that. Easy to put together. Honestly didn't need the instructions. The hinges are still intact. The led lights can get very dirty very easily because of the amount of light and moisture a lot of algae grows on them so you just have to clean them every month or so. No problems with the electric and no leaks. Overall pretty decent tank.

Do not buy
I've had this tank for about 7 months and woke up to all the water having leaked out and my fish were barely alive. My daughter is so upset as she's had her fish for 5years. Luckily I was able to save the fish, but now I'm hesitant about buying another one of these tanks. This is my 2nd Tetra tank that has leaked!!

Major leaking.
Bought a ten gal tank today because I'm down sizing from a 29 gal. At first the tank was holding up. Then I noticed some dripping, then when I called my parents down to help me, the tank started to create a waterfall. It ruined my bookshelf and I'm super upset. My carpet is all wet but I did like the filter. It was super quiet. But I think tetra needs to work on the making sure the tank doesn't leak. The whole point of the tank is to keep water IN it.
