Good, bad and ugly
I have purchased several Tetra LED lighting hoods for my fish aquariums.
Good - excellent lighting. Perfect fit.
Bad - from my experience, the LED bulbs do not last more than 6 months to a year.
Ugly - the LED bulbs are not replaceable. You have to purchase the entire hood which becomes very expensive.
The manufacturer box states: 5 years bulb life. From my experience, bulb life is 6 months to a year.
I have 3 tanks; 55 gallon, 10 gallon and 5 gallon. The 55 gallon takes 2 hoods.
I gave this product a 3 star rating because of the actual lighting. The LED bulbs I would rate 0.

Lights quit working after 6 months
The lights quit working after 6 months and of course I have to buy a whole hood to replace them. It seems that with so many reports of the lights not working, a good business would sell replacement lights. Of course you make more money selling the whole hood.

stopped working
after about 18 months in service, the lights have stopped working. I inquired about buying replacement lights, BUT THEY ARE NOT SOLD. To replace the hood costs more than the whole tank kit. I will never buy anything from this company again.

Does not last
I have had my tank for 14 years and upgraded from a fluorescent hood to the led version. First one last 15 months and we bought a second one and it lasted 14 months. My fluorescent one lasted 8 or 9 years....thought led was a better option and it sure wasn’t! NOT wasting my money on another led strip version.

Amazing lights!
ive bought these lights for my 5.5 planted betta tank and the plants are doing extremely well, the lights show off my bettas colours perfectly, lights up the entire tank nicely although some areas get more lights then others but its not a bad thing with the type of plants i have and gives it a more natural feel i think

Lights on lid stopped working
Just like several of the rest of these reviews, my lights stopped working. I suggest to stay away from this product and instead buy a well designed product where the lights can be replaced and from a company that understands this and doesn't make you buy a
whole new lid and light kit.

Hood is great, but fish in the dark! (lights died)
Tank is a great little tank. I bought it for a shrimp colony. Unfortunately, the lights stopped working. Have looked everywhere, but you can't buy replacement lights??? Have to buy the whole hood or a separate light kit. Disappointing for what otherwise should have been a great setup!
